I think they didn't care who actually won it was all about the huge payday and that they will do another match soon for more money if they don't take it to the octagon.

No way Mayweather goes into the octagon. I just don't see it. To last a round or two, he would have to learn at least the basics of around 5 styles of fighting. Whereas fighters have training in striking, so it was a case of Connor just learning to do it well.
It was as everyone expected it to be. Connor came in hot, trying to win it quickly. They both knew he didn't have the conditioning to go the distance. All Mayweather had to do was not do anything silly in the first few rounds. He sat back, used his experience and ended it when he was ready.

I watched it and thought McGreggor did a great job for that to be his first Boxing match.

I watched and while I wanted McGregor to catch Mayweather, I figured it would go pretty much as it did. Mayweather is one of the best boxers ever for a reason and you don't get to 49 and 0 (now 50-0) without being elite. With that said, Connor definitely proved he was more than talk and actually did really well in a boxing match. I don't think either one phoned this one in, it was definitely more than just about the money (although walking away with hundreds of millions of dollars each doesn't hurt) The problem was Connor has never had to condition for anything more than 25 minutes of fighting. Once they got past the 8th round (24 minutes) it showed. He was gassed, Mayweather was not.
All in all though, it was a good fight and it was nice to see Mayweather actually take a fight to someone again. (it's been a while)

Connor punched Mayweather more than any other opponent he's ever faced. I just found that shit out today, wow.

It wont go down as a great fight, but a must see fight, considering who was involved, but Mayweather was out of the ring for 2 years so that could be possible the reason as well as his age why he was hit so often. There was no loser in this fight, and I do think the ref finish the match a little too quick but the result would have been the same if it continued

At least it didn't go to a decision. Had it, we would hear about everything from the judges being paid, to them being blind, to the entire sport of boxing being fixed. It wasn't the worst fight I've ever seen and was a damn sight better than Pacquiao and Mayweather.

It was a predictable match but it will be the same if Mayweather ever grows a set and decides to take Conner on in his style of fighting in the octagon
