** Sometimes the hope you have to do something great fades away. Sometimes as it fades away you know you'll never see it again. It's quite the sad triumph of fate. It's the fate that Tony the Spider experiences on a regular basis. Ironic in a lot of ways, as he is a mockery of himself somehow. Sometimes the way in which we look to ourselves for something more radiates. Radiating from the core of something special. It bleeds through what is normal and while it can't be seen by others, that person knows. Just because you can't see something doesn't mean its not there. While you can't see what radiates from Shawn Rossdale, you can feel it when he comes into a room. Unless you're as numb as the fool that is "Tony the Spider". **
** Shawn Rossdale radiates something special. It's like a glow of orange. It just feels dangerous in a lot of ways. If you look really really close maybe you can see it. But I doubt it. The reality is nothing is actually glowing from Rossdale. The concept is just crazy, but the point that needs to be made here is that when you see someone that is special, someone that has that "it" factor, someone that is "Iconic".... you just know. **
** Knowing is just part of it. Its just part of the beginning to a end. After Shawn Rossdale humiliates Tony the Spider, it will be the end of the beginning for Shawn. He knows. Tony knows. OCW fans know. We all know. Like I said knowing is just part of it. It's doing and showing that matters. Shawn Rossdale is going to expose Tony the Spider for the joke that he is. **
Shawn: Yeah, yeah I'm in. I'm almost there. Yeah. Alright. No I didn't forget. See you then.
** Shawn pulls into a local Tennis club in England. His match is very soon. He enjoy tennis. It helps him relax and to soothe his mind with other things. He's not looking past Tony the Spider, but he's not exactly even looking at competition either. For someone that laughs at everything, maybe it's him who hes laughing at? We'll never know. Ignorance and lunacy know no bounds with this Tony clown. **
Shawn: Just on time. How about it?
Tennis Partner: Well last week you were late.
Shawn: I know I know. Hey I bought you lunch for that. Remember?
Tennis Partner: How could I forget Stanson's Deli? That place is classic.
Shawn: It is. It is. Been around for ages. Just like you.
Tennis Partner: I'm not much older than you my friend. Serve up!!!
** Rossdale's tennis partnet who he's known since childhood hits the ball quite hard and Rossdale hits it back in a way that his buddy can't return it. His buddy Nelson. Nelson helps Shawn with various training exercises and such. He has for years. **
Nelson (Tennis Partner): Wow, nice one. You've been practicing without me old friend?
Shawn: Me? Couldn't be me. I'm not that shallow. This is our thing. Every Saturday evening... round about and playing some racket. You know me. Always luck on my side.
Nelson: Luck? Don't be so modest man. We've always had great chemistry and all that, but you've always been the better one. I can compete with you, but I can't consistently defeat you.
Shawn: Wasn't that light of you?
Nelson: What? Just being honest. Come on. Since I'm so much older maybe you should cut me some length.
Shawn: I'm not cutting you anything you old bloke.
Nelson: Talk about being light....
Shawn: Lets get back to the game. You know I was kidding.
** Shawn and Nelson play tennis for about 90 minutes. The atmosphere is hallow and mostly silent outside of the sharp snaps of the ball being hit. They don't talk much as work is work and business is business. Shawn takes his business pretty serious. He believes that no matter who your opponent is in life, or in a match, you must defeat them at all costs. That is the whole nature of survival of the fitest. Some of us are fit and... well some of us get squashed like spiders. **
** After a quick shower, and heading out to their cars late. **
Nelson: Hey man, that was a great session. What's with you today?
Shawn: What you mean?
Nelson: I mean. I don't know. You just seem on it. You look happy.. not that you weren't ever happy... but you are glowing man. You ju...
Shawn: Glowing? Like how?
Nelson: You know. Glowing. You seem radiant, like you're getting married tomorrow or something.
Shawn: Well I am... (chuckles)
Nelson: Don't even start that. You've been a single type guy forever. You always will be!
Shawn: I know. Jenny... she's coming around. Maybe some day? Who can tell. Thanks for the glowing remark. I do feel different.
Nelson: I hope this OCW thing works out for you man. You have that knack to rise to the top usually in all things. Remember secondary school? You always were so competitive.
** Shawn unlocks his car and gets in, rolls the window down and blankly stares at his keys before he speaks. Almost in laser focus. **
Shawn: Yeah friend. I've always had this desire to do great things. And you're right about that. About that lot you went on about being radiant and glowing. I do feel different. I'll call you next week. Gotta fly out to Florida tomorrow. Peace brother.
** Shawn rides off and Nelson waves him on. Nelson shakes his head, seeing this slow mutation in Shawn's desires and will has him excited. OCW is going to have their hand's full. **
