The special show will ALWAYS only be 1 roleplay. I'm never going to change that. 2,000 words for 1 roleplay for a 2 match one off show is perfect.
So about our main weekly show.
If it was up to me I'd go 3 roleplays max of 1,500 words, but I know some people can't do that.
Or don't want to do that.... cough.
What do you guys think?

I think 2 for spectacle with the possibility of a third for a special show would be hard. Not that I couldn't find the material, more the time away from little feet pattering about. That being said, just because I can't post 2 the same day, doesn't mean I can't write them the same session

Yeah, i think a lot of people are overthinking this.
The roleplay limits aren't that much of a problem.
Trust me, if I thought we'd all meet the deadlines and stuff and limits I'd love to go 3 at 1.5
We were barely hitting the 1 at 2k, so 2 at 1.5 isn't that much of a difference.
The hidden thing in this is the ability to respond to someone's roleplay.

Yeah that's where I struggle. I don't often get the chance to respond as the best days for me are Wednesday and Thursday due to work and childcare. I put myself at a big disadvantage role-playing early when most aren't free until Friday at least. Retail sucks sometimes

Have you ever thought of max of two (or even 3) and then the one that scores the highest that week is the RP that counts for the show.(Or even an "average" score of both RPs) Currently with 2 RPs counting someone who is only able to get out one RP is highly punished. This way if you get one RP in that is your highest scored RP. I think this could also help some folks avoid burning out, some folks could stretch out their content more, it could attract the casual RPer who doesn't have as much time, it would also get rid of the death sentence that happens when you can only get in one RP.
By death sentence I mean if someone had a busy week and they can only get one RP in Friday night and their opponent has two RPs or is going to post their second by the deadline there is almost no motivation to post as the competition is so stiff here that you've already lost by default. (Essentially what happened with my match against Stetson. I had a strat in and an RP but I felt it was terrible compared to past work as it was very rushed. Stetson had already posted his second by the time I was finished.
Of course I wouldn't want an exception to be made for me, but I feel that an RP situation like this could help with getting in new members. I know that 1,500 words isn't "a lot" but this is coming from someone who has spent upwards of 3 hours or more on many RPs getting them just right. I could mass produce mediocre 1,500 word RPs all day but they wouldn't be worth reading and wouldn't contribute to the show or my character in a constructive manner.
I know it will sound cliche, but I put a little piece of my heart into every RP I post as Sebastian is just an extension of myself. I want each RP to be as good as or better than my last. For the most part, I legit get into character for RPs by cutting promos in the shower, mirror, or in the car as I'm driving.
I love ICW and the community we have here, I really want to participate and be part of the show again, this is one of the more cathartic hobbies I have ever participated in. It can be hard when some weeks I may only have the time to write one RP I see as "Cazador Quality" and know I'll lose because my opponent wrote two spectacular RPs as I know many folks here have the ability to do so. As you have said before Shawn, it's supposed to all be in fun and not feel like work. There are weeks where IRL is demanding and life outside of work feels like work. I don't want a fun hobby to feel like work when I HAVE to write two lights out RPs.
Again I don't want or expect special treatment or any exceptions to be made just for me as I always want what is best for ICW and the community. None of this is intended to be confrontational or demeaning in anyway, this is just my insight/opinion on the matter.

I feel having a minimum number of role plays is great but I feel maybe allowing us to do as many as we want or allowing us to make it as long as we want if you do as Sebastion suggested

I feel as though it should be one with the option of two or even three but the best one will count as Steele suggested. I just feel that way everyone is satisfied. The guys that can only pump one out a week aren't punished at that point against someone who put out two.
That way people that could only post one a week feel as though they could still succeed here.
I personally joined because of the one a week rp limit. I could possibly do two but I wouldn't want to feel like I had to do two in order to even be considered to win.
So, I feel as though Steele is onto something here. And this way, you please both parties and the inbetweeners.
But, I haven't been here for very long and this is just my opinion.

I like the idea of three role plays with a no word limit but it may be best to have it with a minimum of one role play and the best one win

Oh I Hope that didn't come out bitchy as I didn't intend it that way by any means Duke. I will be able to do two every so often but definitely not every week. I'll just wait too see what the consensus is and figure it out from there!

Oh no I wouldn't leave. I just can't guarantee I'll always be able to do two. There's no point in leaving, I just got here!

I really like Steele's idea. One because it seems we have attracted some or these guys during our 1 RP/week era. I would hate for anyone to feel like they didn't have a chance here just because they are more busy some weeks. It does make a lot or sense to take the highest scored RP other than an average though...for example if I RP twice and score 18 and 20 and my opponent RPs once and scores 20, then it should be a 20/20 draw. In an average score I would lose 19/20.

I've browsed this... but guys... guys
1 roleplay of decent quality shouldn't take more than 45 minutes. Who doesn't have 90 minutes in a week? I don't get it.

I knocked today's out in 45 minutes. 1500 words more or less, it's not hard.

I try sometimes I am so sick and just wore out but I push through and do my role plays and post on here to let the guest see we are active here in ICW and so Shawn and my opponents hard work isn't for nothing.
